30 Day Movie Challenge – Days Three, Four, & Five

Sorry this is so late! I’ve been busy and lacking motivation, but I’m back! Angela is also doing this challenge, so check out her posts too!

Day Three

Marvel’s The Avengers

It’s a family favorite here. It’s about how Loki (Tom Hiddleson) wants to enslave the human race and how Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) wants to form a team of superhumans to help, hence the Avengers. I saw it twice in the theater and it’s so good! Robert Downey Junior is hilarious as Iron Man and Black Widow (Scarlett Johanssan) is such a badass. Also, the movie doesn’t even have to be good if I can just look at Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Chris Evans (Captain America) for two hours.

Day Four

The Rock

I’m not a horror movie fan; I just find them incredibly dumb. Suspense/thrillers are more up my alley because most of the time the characters are not incredibly stupid (looking at you, horror movie protagonists) and the plot actually has some merit to it. Anyway, The Rock (not the buff dude) is about how a group of rogue marines have taken over Alcatraz prison with chemical weapons and hostages. A nerdy scientist (Nicholas Cage) and ex-con (Sean Connery) are called in to alleviate the situation, but soon realize they’re in way over their heads.

Day Five

Good Will Hunting

This is one of my all-time favorites. I love Matt Damon and Robin Williams, so just that right there is enough to win me over. This was Damon’s first movie that he wrote with Ben Affleck and won the Oscar for. Williams won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor as well. Anyway, it’s about a troubled young man (Matt Damon) with a genius IQ who is discovered by a professor (Stellan Skarsgard) who wants to help him reach his true potential, but first must fulfill a deal to go to a therapist (Robin Williams) in order to avoid jail. There are funny parts as well, but the emotionally-charged moments are certainly going to pull at your heartstrings.

What are some of your favorites?

xx, Hannah
